Objective
In december, people all over the world will celebrate Christmas and Hanukkah. With ginger bread cookies or latkes the holidays fit in somewhere between religious tradition, commerce, and family get-togethers. Only about five times per century, however, do the christian and jewish holidays fall on the same date. Reason enough for the Jewish Museum Berlin to present the special exhibition "Christmas-Hanukkah". For this project, kakoii Berlin was charged with creating an additional website as well as developing an interactive multimedia application for the event.

Period
  November 2004 to February 2005

Solution

To meet the high expectations of the museum in the areas of didactics and entertainment, kakoii concentrated its efforts on doing the project with touches of humor and clever insight. Together with factual information pertaining to the exhibition, the website contains interactive questionnaires, a game where the object is to light Hanukkah lights, a secret area with recipies as well as downloads like screensavers or sounds.

Much like the main museum website, which was also created by kakoii Berlin, the Christmas-Hanukkah site is suited to the needs of peole with disabilities. The effort was made to make sure that access to the exhibition over the internet was open to those with special needs.
